Our international client, one of the largest and most successful international schools in Europe that have been established for more than 80 years, is currently looking for a driven and enthusiastic HR Advisor / Manager to provide support to our client’s executive leadership team.

Job Profile for HR Advisor / Manager
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Report to the CFO, providing timely advice on HR/OR matters
  • Support the executive leadership team with HR related matters
  • Provide leadership to the HR team (7 staff)
  • Manage the performance and professional development of the HR team members
  • Act as a business partner to the Heads of Senior School Voorschoten (SSV), Senior School Leidschenveen (SSL), Junior School Leidschenveen (JSL), the client’s Language centre and the International Leadership Academy (ILA)
  • Meet with the Heads of schools at least 1 x per month to discuss contracts/general HR issues/sickness absences cases/upcoming plans etc. Also, meet with the Senior School Voorschoten, SSV, head every 2 weeks
  • On site at SSV at least 1 day per week to answer staff/leadership/headteacher queries
  • If possible be onsite at JSL & SSL for at least half a day each week as per above
  • Support the Heads of schools with sickness absence management and lead on long term absence cases
  • Support schools with contract renewals/reports and approving entries on the Human Resources Management System (HR2day) when required
  • Oversee the recruitment process at all levels
  • Attend 2 x per year the whole school health and safety committee meetings
  • Once per school term attend the whole school Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) committee meetings
  • Ensure Contracts/ Flex contracts are compliant as per 1 January changes in employment law 
  • Review the recruitment and on-boarding process including the review of relocation agents used for new overseas staff
  • Support the organisation through implications of BREXIT related to work/resident permits

Candidate Profile for HR Advisor / Manager

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Dutch is an advantage
  • Must have 3-5 years of related HR experience within an international environment
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of Dutch labour law & Poortwachter (sickness absence management)
  • Experience of handling employee relations/conflict/termination agreements etc
  • Affinity with HRM systems, reporting and data analysis, and a good awareness of online recruitment tools such as applicant trackers, referencing, video interviewing etc
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Collaborative, solution focused, and a customer centric approach is essential
